LOCAL AND/OR GENERAL

Local and/or General is an Australian music show. Each week I play not only the latest music from around the country, but also local independant and unsigned artists as well as featuring demos, a gig guide, live-to-air performances and interviews.

I play unsolicited material, which means you don't have to contact me beforehand if you want to send me your demo. I listen to everything I get sent, eventually, and if you want to see if your CD is getting played have a look at my weekly playlists.

My policy for playing material is simple: I like it, I play it. At least once. If you are a band or performer gigging in Melbourne regularly you are more likely to get played more often. If you aren't sure if your music is appropriate or likely to be well received, listen to the show or, again, check my playlists to see what kind of stuff gets on.

I accept material on CD or vinyl. If you are sending in material on vinyl, make my job (as a volunteer!) easier by sending a CD version as well. Please label the CD properly, and the CD case. And make sure you check the CD isn't faulty before sending it! I don't play music that I receive as MP3, nor will I download your music to play on the program. If you want me to play it, then please send me an audio CD.
